Who are the Lovettes?
Well, wouldn’t you like to know…
The Lovettes — a Chicago-based powerhouse vocal trio founded in 2012 by Darcy Jo Wood — bring a vibrant, harmony-soaked celebration of the golden era of music to the stage. Joined by fellow actor-singer-entertainers Molly Jean and Daryn Alexus, all three theatre majors with an undying love for harmonies and timeless music, The Lovettes honor the trailblazing women who defined pop, soul, and rock ’n’ roll. Their dynamic performances spotlight the iconic sounds of Peggy Lee, Connie Francis, The Ronettes, Lesley Gore, Dusty Springfield, Tina Turner, The Supremes, and beyond!
With stunning vocals, tight harmonies, and show-stopping choreography, The Lovettes breathe new life into these timeless classics—honoring the legends while adding their own signature sparkle. Internationally acclaimed, they’ve toured across the U.S., Canada, and Europe with appearances on The Late Show and PBS’s Doo-Wop Generations, and have earned praise from original girl-group icons including Beverly Lee (The Shirelles) and Judy Craig (The Chiffons).
The trio has shared the stage with music legends including Wanda Jackson, Brenda Lee, and John Goodman, and their career highlights include international rockabilly festivals, luxury cruise ship engagements, renowned performing arts centers, casinos, and high-end corporate events. In addition to their headline performances, The Lovettes are frequently hired as a backing trio for world-renowned tribute acts—adding their signature harmonies and stage presence to large-scale productions across the globe.
Their show-stopping salute, It’s My Party!, is a dazzling, high-energy tribute to the female icons and girl groups of the 1950s and ’60s. From the sweet swing of The Chordettes to the soulful shimmer of Tina Turner, this harmony-filled performance delivers a feel-good, retro celebration of sisterhood, song, and the sounds that started it all—keeping audiences singing, dancing, and falling in love with the music all over again.
“It’s an honor to pass the torch on to the next Doo-wop generation, The Lovettes.”
